THE JMG EXISTING CUSTOMER FREE INSPECTION

There isnt many times in life that something really is free of charge. You have probably heard the expression "there is no such thing as a free lunch" but in the case of the JMG New Customer Free Inspection, it really is FREE!!

So why do we offer this service free of charge to existing customers?

The reasoning is simple, as a busy specialist the next time we may see your Porsche is when it either turns up for a routine service, or on the back of a recovery truck following a breakdown. Which can cause chaos for our schedule and your finances when unexpected repairs are required. So the reasoning behind the free inspection is so that we can assist your Porsche ownership experience by predicting the future and spotting any potential problems before they turn into an unexpected problem. Even if your Porsche has recently had a service with us, it may have developed some faults requiring attention which can be identified and rectified before they become a serious issue.

At JMG we recommend that all cars are serviced at least on a yearly basis even if they have hardley been used. But we also recommend that all cars at least have an interim service half way through the year. If we cant convice you to have an interim service at least with this free inspection you can have your car visually checked for faults which may be minor now that could turn into major problems later. Not only this but as the seasons change the demands put on your Porsche change also, which is why we offer free seasonal checks to existing customers where as Porsche main dealers also advocate this inspection but charge for it!

Is it really free of charge and will JMG proceed with repairs without authority from the customer?

Yes, this service is free of charge, without obligation and we will not make any form of repairs without your prior consent.

Following the free inspection, we will contact you with our findings. If we have found any issues we will offer to produce estimates for repairs or recommendations for future repairs and maintainance. But we will not proceed with repairs unless you have already been informed of the cost and have asked us to proceed with repairs.

Who qualifies for a Free Existing Customer Inspection?

Anyone who owns a Porsche and is an existing customer, its as simple as that. All we ask is that you come along to your appointment with enough fuel that we can have the engine running for testing and possibly for road testing.

Who does not qualify for a Free Existing Customer Inspection?

If you are not an existing customer, you do not qualify for a Existing Customer Inspection. But if you are not yet a customer of JMG you will be entitled to a New Customer Free Inspection!

How long does it take?

Typically, the Free Existing Customer Inspection has a duration of up to two hours. You can wait while the inspection is performed or some customers choose to visit Christchurch or Bournemouth town centre during the inspection. Others choose to leave the car with us for the whole day so they can continue with their usual day to day routine.

Will the inspection form any kind of warranty or garauntee?

Unfortunately the Free Existing Customer Inspection is only a visual non invasive inspection which is not charged for, as such we are unable to accept liability for our not predicting a breakdown, failure or issue with you car. It is in our interests to find problems which exist at the time of the inspection, as you may choose to arrange repairs with our business, so we will endevour to perform the inspection with the benefit of our extensive experience to find any issues which currently exist.

Will I be under any obligation to have any future repairs performed by JMG?

Absolutely not! Once the inspection has been performed we would love for you to have future maintainance and repairs performed with us. However you will not be under ANY obligation to JMG. We can also promise that we will use any hard sell tactics.. Should you not contact us to arrange any repairs, we will not even contact you to encorage you to have your car repaired.

What about new customers?

New customers are not left out in the cold by JMG. Should a new customer wish to have their car inspected we have our New Customer Free Inspection.

How does your inspection compare with the Porsche 111 point check?

The Porsche 111 point check primary purpose is to check a car for major defects prior to the car being sold as a Porsche approved used car. Our inspection includes all of the same checks, as well as some aditional items which are more intended on predicting future maintainance requirements.

Can the inspection be used to diagnose problems?

Its not really the intention of the free existing customer inspection to diagnose problems unless they are diagnosed as part of the process of inspection. However it may be the case that as part of the inspection we recommend diagnostic checks that we can perform to diagnose problems., along with estimates for costs of these diagnostic proceedures.

A good example of this would be if you are experiencing smoke emitting from the exhaust. During the inspection, if we observe the smoke, we will note it as a fault and we may be able to draw some conclusions from its colour or even smell. However we would probably recommend a leakdown and compression test in the case of blue smoke, Fuel and ignition tests for black smoke and cooling system tests for white smoke, along with their respective costs..

What does JMG do during the inspection?

As mentioned above, during our inspection we perform 120 checks. A copy of the complete list of checks is available on request from service reception at JMG. In addition to the 120 points checked during the inspection, the technician will also check aditional items based on his own experience of the particular model of Porsche. For example, when inspecting a Porsche Boxster, the technician will pay particular attention to problem areas of this model, such as track control arm bushes, rear main seal leaks, coil pack condition, coolant cap version and much much more. Another example would be for a older or vintage Porsche, where the technician may use his experience to check for issues with components decomposing with age, such as rubber intake hoses, gaskets and corrosion. Realisticly if we were to add up the points checked on the average inspection it would probably be over double the 120 points that we advertise!!

What do I need to bring along to a Free Existing Customer Inspection?

We recommend customers follow this short check list prior to their appointment so they know what to bring to the appointment.

ITEM TO BRING
REASONING
The car itself!
Obvious really, only listed here for fun.
Fuel in the car (minimum of a quarter full)
Although not immediately obvious at times, but to inspect the car we may need to have the engine running and perform a test drive, should the fuel level be low during this process debris from the fuel tank may be drawn into the fuel system and cause issues while the car is in our care.. It may also cause additional problems, not to mention the stress level of the technician who may need to road test the car while worrying if it is about to run out of fuel.
Service book (if available)
As part of the inspection it may be usefull to be able to refer to the service record book for the car to help with recommendations of future servicing and routine maintainance tasks.

What you do NOT need to bring is ANY form of money or credit/debit cards.. This inspection REALLY is FREE!!!
