The Porsche 944 model range started production in 1982 with the 2.5 8 valve 944. Sold in the UK as the 944 Lux (by the addition of alloy wheels, electric windows, electric mirrors and sunroof as standard). The 944 S2 entered production in 1989 with production running until the 1993 with the introduction of the Porsche 968. During the run of S2 production Porsche introduced the 944 S2 Cabriolet.

The 944 S2 Cabrio marked the first of the 944 family to be available in convertable format. Porsche went to great lengths to make the 944 S2 Cabrio the most structually rigid cabrio ever made with each one hand built.

Producing over 200 BHP and masses of torque, mixed with near 50/50 weight distribution to produce excellent handling, the 944S2 was an instant hit with customers around the world and enjoys near to zero depreciation due to demand for these cars from deserning customers seeking a sports car with good looks, excellent handling, reliability and excellent performance. In fact the JMG prediction is that 944s in comming years will appreciate in value. The cabriolets only made up for a small part of this production run, so its predicted that this car will be a sought after appreciating classic.

JMG take seriously that the cars we sell must represent excellent levels of quality. Due to this the workshop performed many hours of work perfecting every aspect of this car to future proof it against future problems.

Tasks performed included replacement of the the front shock absorbers with new koni units, brakes, belts, waterpump, front engine oil seals, suspension components and much more.

As you can see in the pictures above, the 944 S2 cabrio benefitted from full size rear seats, just as with the coupe versions making this a practical car as well as a fun drop top sports car.

As part of the pre sales process here at JMG, this cas has been driven by Jon personally for his critical judgement over a prelonged period as his day to day transport. During this extended road test, Jon rectified any last remaining minor niggles to the point that we are confident that this car will pass any inspection with flying colours.

You may notice this car is currently fitted with genuine Porsche 17inch twist design wheels. However, we are able to exchange these for an excellent set of Design 90 wheels at no extra cost.
